Search for devices
There are a couple of ways to search the Derek Data Portal. Find what you are looking for – see below.
In this article:
How to search on maps
By clicking the search tile in Map, you can search for a tracking device by entering the device‘s name, serial number or type, etc.

The tracking device will be shown on the map.

Searching for a tracking device will return either a list of tracking devices, if a number of tracking devices matches the search criteria, or just a single tracking device if this is the only one meeting the search criteria.
If you click your device icon, a pop up with information from the tracker will be displayed:

-
Device model, type, and serial number
-
Device name – Click this to go to device view
-
Item description – Click to go to device view
-
Group – Click to go to group
-

-

-
Event trigger – The event that caused the position to be tracked.
-

-

You can also click “Show from this position” to go to a map view of the individual device.
Search in My devices
Click My devices in the top menu.

Here you can search for a group or a device by entering the name of a group or device, the serial number or type of a device etc in the search bar in the top.

Write at least 3 letters, numbers, or symbols to get suggestions of devices that match your search criteria. It can be either found in the device name, the device number, or in the item description.

A list of search results will appear.
Click either the Name or the Serial Number to go to the device.
Sort in search results
You are able to sort in the search results. Click on the small black arrows which go up and down next to the category.

For example, if you have many devices, it makes it easier for you to sort by the devices with the latest transmissions or sort after the ones that have not been transmitted for a long time.
